Tupi Ionizer Apparatus

The Tupi Ionizer Apparatus will make controlled bipolar ionization, generating small amounts of ozone, which has the ability to act in the air, completely, as a sterilizer without the use of chemical substances, leaving no residues and working in a totally biological way. The Tupi Ionizer Apparatus will be fixed on the wall of the place as a type of air conditioning unit.
A complementary and essential function is the use of systems equipped with ultraviolet lamps in order to neutralize or eliminate harmful agents on surfaces. It is an already used, safe and effective means, accompanied by a cooling system to avoid any unnecessary heating, since it eliminates bacteria, spores, viruses, fungi, molds, germs and parasites invisible to the human eye.
Our idea is to create a robot called 'TupiBot Cleaner' that will carry this ultraviolet light. In closed places, autonomously, the Tupi Bot Cleaner will start the cleaning process through the use of UV lamps.
The Tupi Ionizer Apparatus will ventilate and purify the air by bipolar ionization throughout the environment. The Tupi Bot Cleaner will be used in specific places, as a complement to the Tupi Ionizer Apparatus.
For example, the Tupi Bot Cleaner in a hospital or residence, will stay in a room cleaning the air for a necessary period and then be turned off or go to another room to perform the same process. The UV lights will be turned off automatically when the Tupi Bot Cleaner realizes that the cleaning time was necessary and before it can create a hostile environment for humans and other vertebrate animals.
The Tupi Bot Cleaner will also contain a device to perform bipolar ionization of the environment, as it will serve as a backup in case the central device fails or the location is not so big that the Tupi Ionizer Apparatus is used.
In a spaceship or in the International Space Station, the environment will be with the bipolar ionization device and the Tupi Bot Cleaner will come when necessary to clean the environment with UV light, being used also when the astronaut arrives at the International Space Station or in the return of some mission outside (such as maintaining the space station or visiting the Moon or Mars).
In these places, the Tupi Ionizer Apparatus will perform its full-time function at a fixed location in the spaceship or the ISS.

In addition to helping to combat the new virus of the coronaviridae family, this can be a solution to several other problems related to the current one in the future, after all, it is something that with due attention, can be improved and well used.
This system established by us has great effectiveness in the purification of ambient air in closed spaces, for example, kitchens, clinics, laboratories, industrial environments, residences and veterinary clinics.
With so much to offer, this system proves to be able to not only solve problems related to isolation, but it can also reassure people who have and will be afraid to return to work, study and frequent indoor environments, as controlled bipolar ionization with UV light it will eliminate harmful agents in closed and crowded environments.
People will be able to go back to work, study in person, the economy will stabilize and the company that supports this project will not only be investing in solving several problems, but will also profit and get more recognition.

Since our foundation in May 2020, José Júnior Ramper, Rafael D'Ávila, Matheus Melo, João Vithor dos Santos, and Rammony Barbosa, united by José Lucas Ferreira, with the purpose of making the NASA Space Apps Challenge special Covid-19 challenge. We prepared with the mentoring of technicians in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, a project that aims to solve the issue of air contamination, to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus and also help in cleaning the air inside the spaceships and the Space Station International. Our intention is to be constantly improving ourselves to expand our ideas, in order to better help in technology that provides a better life to people on Earth or to those who work outside it.
